For the women who dare to empower, inspire, educate, create, curate, raise families- we honour you and the countless roles you embody. This Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who shape culture and redefine leading with authenticity, passion and purpose.
Nadine Kanso, the visionary behind jewellery label Bil Arabi is recognised for her ability to weave culture, identity and storytelling into her creative work. Her artistry extends far beyond design— it is a reflection of her own journey as a woman embracing expression in all aspects of life. Our exclusive campaign spotlights the multi-faceted artist, curator and mother, as she reflects on the power of self-expression, and how curating her environment, wardrobe, and daily rituals serves as an extension of her identity. It comes as no surprise, as her namesake label celebrates the beauty of Arabic calligraphy that transforms into bold statements of individuality. We sit down with Nadine to discuss her journey as a woman in the creative space carving her own path, honouring her authenticity, and how embracing her own voice has defined both her work and personal style.
On Artistry…
Art is a reflection of identity, heritage, and emotion—it’s how I make sense of the world. It’s not just about creating; it’s about preserving and challenging, questioning norms, and celebrating life. When it comes to my artistic journey, it has taught me to see beauty in imperfection, to find meaning in contrast. My journey started with photography, capturing raw, unfiltered moments of Arab culture, and evolved into jewellery—where every piece holds a story, a sentiment, a word that carries weight. My work is a tribute to my roots, my emotions, and my love for Arabic calligraphy and culture. It’s bold, personal, unafraid to make a statement, and about being unapologetically myself.
On Entrepreneurship…
Being a leader means creating with purpose and standing by my vision, even when it’s unconventional. Leadership is about resilience, knowing when to push forward, when to adapt, and always staying true to what I believe in. Breaking into the world of fine jewellery as an Arab woman has shaped me, redefining what luxury means through my own lens, and proving that Arabic script and culture belong in this space. Daring to create your own path means not waiting for permission. You’ll hear a lot of "no’s," but trust yourself. If you believe in what you’re doing, carve your own way and own your space. The right risks open doors. Every bold decision—whether launching Bil Arabi, expanding into new markets, or collaborating outside my comfort zone—has led me to something greater. Growth happens in moments of uncertainty.
On Motherhood…
My mother, the women in my family, and every Arab woman who carries her history with grace and strength inspire me. Women who own their narratives and redefine their roles, unapologetically. Strength is not about having all the answers, but about showing up every day, being present, and leading by example. Strength is in the quiet moments of love, the lessons we pass on without even realising. I want my children to grow up to be proud of who they are, to speak their truth, and to never compromise their identity. I want them to understand that their voice matters, and that culture, heritage, and individuality are worth celebrating. Most of all, it’s about providing love. Even in the busiest days, the smallest moments remind me that presence is what matters most.
On Style…
Style is a language. It’s how I express myself before saying a word. It’s power, individuality, and confidence all at once. Fashion is a form of self-expression and empowerment. When I get dressed, I wear what feels true to me. I don’t follow rules— I mix tradition with modernity, the bold with the subtle, masculine with feminine. It’s about owning my identity through what I wear.
On Authenticity…
I’m someone who is constantly searching for meaning in the details, in the moments that often go unnoticed. I feel the most free when I’m creating—whether it’s designing, taking photos, or simply putting ideas into motion. I’ve learned that authenticity isn’t about staying the same, but about staying true. We evolve, we grow, but as long as we honour what matters to us, we remain authentic.
